Readying for Winter

Saturday, 5 January 2019

As they say on Game of Thrones, "Winter is coming."

Paul got ready with the recent purchase of a small snow thrower.
It has a battery, can also operate off a power cord to a 120V outlet.
Intended for small bits and pieces - in front of garage, front walk.

Also, in and around cars when parked down in the lower parking area.
Obviously, the power cord won't reach that far. It is quite light in weight.
so will ride down in style on the carrier mounted on the back of the ATV.

For snowfall up to about 4 inches, Paul can plow with the ATV, and
even has a snow shovel clipped on for light touch ups. Any deeper,
and Dave comes with his heavy duty truck and plow to clear us out.

Of course, the snow thrower - and other such purchases - comes with
the anticipation that weather will be warm enough to avoid any snow.

Indeed, the 1.45 inches of rain would have been over 14 inches of snow.

But as they say on Game of Thrones, "Winter is coming." It will, eventually, snow.
